Philosophy

“Success for you is our job.”

We know how important your job and career are to you. When they have been taken away, you want someone by your side who shares that concern and recognizes that providing a remedy for that wrong will affect the way you live the rest of your life. As a lawyer, I have been committed to that fight for more than 30 years.

Biography

Donald J. Gasiorek graduated cum laude from Detroit College of Law in 1975, after receiving his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in 1970. Subsequent to law school, he clerked in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan with then-Chief Judge Fred W. Kaess.

After successfully completing his clerkship, he was employed with Friedman, Meyers & Keyes, a Detroit law firm that merged with Schlussel, Lifton, Simon, Rands, Kaufman, Lesinski & Jackier of Southfield, Michigan. At those firms, he practiced primarily in the area of commercial litigation. In 1981, he joined the law firm of Sommers, Schwartz, Silver & Schwartz, P.C., and developed an employment section that concentrates on all aspects of employment law, including, but not limited to, wrongful termination, discrimination, civil rights, and labor management relations. From 2008 through 2023, Mr. Gasiorek continued his employment litigation practice at Gasiorek, Morgan, Greco, McCauley & Kotzian, P.C.

He has successfully litigated many employment-related cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. From 1978 through 1988, he served as an adjunct professor of Law at Detroit College of Law, developing and teaching the senior-level Trial Litigation and Advocacy Program. Mr. Gasiorek is a member of the American Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, and Detroit Bar Association, maintaining membership in the appropriate employment-related committees. He is a frequent lecturer on employment law.
